Where exactly is my data stored?
Every document, every file, every function execution runs in Google Cloud's australia-southeast1 region, which is physically located in Sydney, NSW. This is a hard constraint in our infrastructure — not a setting that can be changed.
Does any data leave Australia?
No. Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Hosting are all pinned to Sydney. The only outbound traffic is API calls to Stripe (Australian infrastructure), Twilio (Australian routing), and SendGrid (email delivery) — none of which store your client data.
Is BookAndGo compliant with the Privacy Act 1988?
Yes. We adhere to the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) governing collection, use, disclosure, and storage of personal information. We don't sell data, we don't share it with advertisers, and we don't use it for purposes beyond delivering the service.
Can I use BookAndGo for health or medical client data?
BookAndGo handles booking, client records, and invoicing. For clinical notes, treatment plans, and Medicare claims, use a dedicated practice management system alongside BookAndGo. Our data residency and access controls are designed with health practitioners in mind.
How does this compare to US-based booking platforms?
Most competitors (Calendly, Acuity, Square Appointments) store data in US data centres. If you're an Australian business handling Australian client information, using a US-hosted platform may create compliance complications under the APPs — particularly APP 8 (cross-border disclosure).
