Moving from Fresha

Fresha ended its free plan in July 2026. If you are now paying a subscription and a commission on new clients, it is worth doing the sum. Here it is, including the cases where you are better off staying.

The honest version first

On subscription alone, Fresha is cheaper than us up to three team members. We are not going to pretend otherwise. Where it changes is at four or more, because we charge one flat price rather than per person, and the 20% new-client fee, which we do not charge at all.

Fresha Independent around $19.95 a month for one bookable team member, Team around $14.95 per bookable team member, as published August 2026. Our Starter is $29 and Professional $59. Prices shown exclude GST. Australian customers are charged 10% GST at checkout. Fresha prices in US dollars, so the Australian cost moves with the exchange rate.

Then add the commission

Fresha charges 20% of the first appointment, minimum around $6, when a new client comes through their marketplace. On a $45 first service that is $9 a head.

5 new clients a month$45on top of subscription
10 new clients a month$90on top of subscription
20 new clients a month$180on top of subscription

Two things about that fee are worth knowing before you decide. Owners report being charged for clients they believe found them through their own Google listing or Instagram, because the attribution is not always clear. And the marketplace that sent you the client keeps showing that client other salons nearby, so you pay to acquire and then compete to keep.

When you should stay on Fresha

  • A real share of your bookings comes from people browsing the Fresha app rather than from your own Google listing, website or Instagram. We have no marketplace and cannot replace that.
  • You are a solo operator with few or no marketplace clients. On subscription alone you are paying less than you would with us.
  • Retail stock management or staff commission tracking runs your business. We do neither.

Common questions

Is BookAndGo cheaper than Fresha?
It depends entirely on your size and whether you take marketplace clients. On subscription alone Fresha is cheaper up to about three team members: their Independent plan is around $19.95 a month and Team around $14.95 per bookable team member, against our flat $59 for the Professional plan. From four team members we are cheaper, and the gap widens as you grow because we do not charge per staff member. The bigger difference is the 20% new-client marketplace fee, which we do not have at all.
What is the Fresha marketplace fee?
Fresha charges 20% of the first appointment, with a minimum of about $6, when a new client finds you through the Fresha marketplace. At a $45 first service that is $9 a client. Twenty new clients in a month is around $180 on top of your subscription. Salon owners also report being charged for clients they believe came from their own Google listing or Instagram, because the attribution is not always transparent.
Will I lose my clients if I leave Fresha?
No. Your client list is your data and Fresha lets you export it. Go to Clients, then Options, then Export, and choose CSV. That gives you names, emails, phone numbers and any stored notes. For appointment history, go to Sales, then Appointments, set the date range to All Time, and export. If you cannot get a full history from the dashboard, email Fresha support and ask for a complete export, naming your business and the fields you need.
Do you do the migration for me?
Yes, and it is free. Send us the CSVs and we load your clients, upcoming appointments and visit history before you go live. You do not need to tidy the files first. We have moved a 646-client clinic across from another platform, and doing this ourselves is the single biggest difference between a business that gets going and one that stalls.
What does BookAndGo not do that Fresha does?
Fresha has a consumer marketplace that can send you new clients, and we do not have one. If a meaningful share of your bookings comes from people browsing the Fresha app rather than from your own Google listing, website or Instagram, that is a real reason to stay. We also do not do retail stock management or staff commission tracking. If those run your business, a full salon suite will fit better than we will.
Is my data held in Australia?
Yes. All data sits in Google Cloud's Sydney region and never leaves Australia, and we bill in Australian dollars with GST invoices carrying your ABN. Fresha and several other platforms price in US dollars, so your cost moves with the exchange rate.
